Geocache Description:

This is a day-time only cache.

This little pig went to market-This little pig stayed home. Well, the pigs in this barn go to market. About three times per year, the farmer brings in piglets which weigh about 25 pounds. They remain here, with food and water always available, until they weigh about 220 pounds, at which time they go to "market". When the barn is empty, it is washed and sanitized, in preparation for the next batch of pigs. The pigs are not in the large barn you see south of the road, but one behind it. Access to the barn is restricted to employees, who must change clothes both before entering and upon leaving the barn. This is to prevent introducing disease into the barn. The barn is heated in the winter, and large fans help cool it in the summer. Should the barn become too warm, overhead water sprinklers come on to help keep the pigs comfortable. A back-up generator is used in cases of power failure.
