This is Pelican box submerged in Colchester Pond. ONLY THE CACHE CONTAINER GOES TO SHORE!!
The Colchester Pond area is open dawn to dusk.
You can snorkel and then surface dive to the cache. There is a buoy marker that you can release to mark where the cache is, once you have released the buoys just follow the line down to the cache. The cache is set up with a quick release carbineer on the anchor brick. Once you reach the brick all you have to do is UNCLIP the CARBINEER and swim to shore, with ONLY the Pelican box in tow.
The buoy marker that you will release marks where the cache belongs, it will make replacing it to the proper anchor easier. There is a pictorial guide attached to this page on the operation of the buoy maker. Please review it carfully and ASK any QUESTIONS you might have, BEFORE you attempt this cache. Pa Yooper has used this system in the past and it has worked well. He was gracious enough to make the buoy maker system for the cache and supply the following directions: In order to facilitate returning the cache container to the proper location, a movable buoy has been set up at the anchor point. It would be helpful if you looked over the pic PRIOR to retrieving the cache. Raise the buoy to the surface as per "A" in the pic labeled "movable marker buoy" before taking the cache container to shore to sign. This should easily mark the anchor point to return the cache container to. After returning the container to the anchor, PLEASE ! lower and lock the buoy in the submerged position as per "B" in the pic labeled "movable marker buoy". This will help in having the cache being muggle proof. Thank you for your cooperation in this procedure.
Please be smart while searching for this cache. A dive mask, snorkel and fins will be required. SCUBA equipment is not required. Teaming up with other cachers to complete this cache is recommended. Shore support is an excellent idea and highly recommended. Everyone in the group can sign the log and count it as a find.
When I set up this cache I had shore support and boat support from Pa Yooper and Coco. Pa beta tested the cache.
