Ngaambul: As there's been either no response from the cache owner, no cache to find or log to sign, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace/make available the cache sometime in the near future (next 30 days), just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the current guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

A nice walk by torch light at night in a lovely bushland area. Bring a good torch

The second in the Frankston Bypass series. The Frankston Bypass construction has already commenced down at the other end near 'GC1P25R - Lost Farmlands 2--Duck Pond'.

If you have a GeoDog bring it along.

Fortunately the area you will cover on your trip will not be cleared for the bypass.

Parking can be found at S 38° 07.510 E 145° 09.815 at the end of Excelsior Drive.

No bush bashing is needed at any time doing this cache. If is does not look like a path you are doing it wrong.

You will need a decent torch to do this cache. Fire tacks are placed up to 80 meters apart and cannot be seen with a cheap torch at that distance. If you do not have the service of a good torch you will constantly loose the trail and spend a lot of time backtracking trying to find the fire tack trail again.

Tip: Hold the torch as close to eye level as you can to get maximum reflection back into your eye. A head lamp is recommend.

The cache begins at the given co-ordinates. Use your torch to find what direction to go. Look for the orange 'stealth' fire tack. There small and you are looking for single fire tacks at this stage.

When you have seen the first fire tack head in that direction, when you arrive at that fire tack use your torch again to find the next fire tack and so on.

After about 10 or so fire tack you will see 2 fire tacks close together. You will also see a very visiable orange reflector hi in the tree, different from the ones you have been looking for. At this location you now need to project 158 meters at 169° Take your time to look around before heading off.

Head to the projected waypoint to pick up the fire tack trail again. When arriving at the projected waypoint use your torch light again to find the next fire tack and start following them.

After another 15+ fire tacks you will see 3 fire tacks in a very close bunch. At this location you are almost at GZ. Just a short little projection and you are there. Project 36 meters at 345°

If you cannot see the next fire tack from your location move 20 meters down either path and look again.

If projection on your GPS is daunting to you a compass bearing and guesstimate the distance.

After doing your business with the cache set the car park as your waypoint and following your arrow.
