Geocache Description:

FTF congratulatory picture

The cache you seek is an ammo can with a unique paint job. It's a labor of love. This cache is placed on the route to a now-archived cache in the area. But unlike the previous cache, I'm not going to make you hike all the way up the hill for a micro. You get to go only part way up for a bigger payoff. In the attributes, I've listed a significant hike. It's not. You'll only have to do a little bit of climbing. You can ride a bike up to about a couple hundred feet of the cach, if that's your thing. The hike, if you prefer that approach is nothing too strenuous. It's not advised that you go after this cache at night as this park closes at sunset. I'll just say I can attest to this fact from personal experience...and leave it at that. I've included an FTF coin for the first to find. It's not trackable, but it's pretty neat and it's yours for the taking. Enjoy!

And now, without further ado...the theme of this cache.
In act 1, scene 2 of William Shakespeare's play Julius Caesar, a soothsayer makes his way through a crowded Roman street to tell Caesar to, "Beware the Ides of March!" Hmmm. That's all fine and good, but what does it mean? I'm certain that our man, Julius would assert that the Ides of March can be murder on a potentate. However, I feel that it simply means the soothsayer wasn't a hockey fan. For if he were, his prophesy to the Roman dictator would have been something more along the lines of, "BEWARE THE PENGUINS!!!"
That's right, the Pittsburgh Penguins have finally rose up and won the National Hockey League's most hallowed prize, the Stanley Cup. Winning the championship brought an end to a 17-year drought. A period of time when the storied franchise had horrible luck, mediocre teams, abysmal seasons and even a few near-misses with bankruptcy.
But through it all, the Pittsburgh Penguins have persevered. And this penguin is very happy. Happy enough to place a cache in memoriam to this triumphant season. Please come find this cache. It's from the heart. Delight in the hunt and the thrill of the chill. As usual, when caching in the Lone Star State, bring plenty of water, watch for animals that bite, bugs that sting, plants that bring itch and all other naturally occurring phenomena that can crimp the mirth. Have a great day and happy caching! GO PENS!!!
