End of the Trail, Brooklyn, CT
This cache is part of a series of 5 caches along a riverside trail
with a round-trip hike of about 3 miles along mostly level ground
except for the beginning and the end. If you have been doing the
series in order then you will now head downriver along the red
trail. It is a fairly smooth and even trail considering the amount
of ATV traffic. Exercise care along some areas of the trail as
there are 20 ft cliffs along the edge of the trail to the water.
Usually there is an ATV trail that is further from the edge than
the foot trail. You will come to a junction with 3 choices. The
trail on the right leads to the Allen Hill Christmas tree farm
which is private property. I have met hikers on the trail who
indicate that the owner does allow hikers and bikers to follow the
trail through his property. I would expect animals are not allowed.
The trails in the middle and the left lead to different points on
the river. The cache is off of the left trail.
