Die Insel
Die Isola Comacina ist die einzige Insel im Comer See. Sie liegt gegenüber den Dörfern Ossuccio und Sala Comacina.

Auf der etwa 500 m langen und 120 m breiten Insel befindet sich die Kirche San Giovanni. Außerdem sind auf der Insel Reste der Basilika S. Eufemia, die während des Krieges im 12. Jahrhundert zerstört wurde, erhalten. Ausgrabungen haben wertvolle Mosaike aus der Römer Zeit ans Licht gebracht.

Der Cache
Zur Insel gelangt man von Menaggio mit dem Kurs-Schiff oder Sala Comacina mit der Fähre.
Dies ist unser erster Cache. Platziert haben wir ihn am 11.Geburtstag unserer Jüngsten, dem "A" aus memAs.

Isola - The Island
Isola Comacina is the sole island in the Lario (Lago di Como), opposite the villages Ossuccio and Sala Comacina.

The island has a length of 500m and a width of about 120m. There's a church (San Giovanni) on the island, as well as some remains of basilica ruins, S. Eufemia, which was destroyed during the war in the 12. century. Archaeological excavation found some valuable mosaics from the Roman Age

The Cache
The boat from Menaggio or the ferry from Sala Comacina will bring you to the island.
This is our first cache. We placed it at the 11th birthday of the "A" from "memAs"
