This cache is located just below where the North Pacolet River enters into Lake Blalock

YOU MUST HAVE A PERMIT FOR USE OF ANY TYPE OF BOAT ON LAKE BLALOCK. KAYAK PERMITS ARE $5.00 AND ARE GOOD FOR 1 YEAR, WHICH IS A GREAT DEAL!!

Lake Blalock is formed by the North and South Pacolet River System (the Pacolet River). The North Pacolet River originates in SE Henderson County, NC near Saluda, NC. After flowing east into Polk County, NC, the North Pacolet flows into northern Spartanburg County. The South Pacolet river originates in Greenville County near Lake Lanier and flows east into northern Spartanburg County to form Lake Bowen. The flow from Lake Bowen then combines with the flow from the North Pacolet River to form Lake Blalock.
The posted coordinates are for the put in dock at Lake Blalock.
Once on the water, turn left to start your journey.
At approx. N35.05.323 & W081.53.330 a bridge will cross the lake, on the 2nd column from the left look at the BACK SIDE of the column , there is a large gauge with numerical increments. Take the 3 digit number at the top of the gauge, and SUBTRACT 213 to get the last numbers you will need to complete the final location coordinates.

This is about a 6.5 mile paddle (in and out) on flatwater.
There is some boat traffic, so you will need to be comfortable dealing with the wakes from other vessels.
Also, remember to bring some drinking water, you'll be glad you did!
