Geocache Description:

This is our first cache, intended to add to your experience of Wallaroo Mines. The terrain difficulty will depend on how and when you approach the area; but expect some walking on an uneven surface.

Update (9/8/09)
Experience has taught me that this cache didn’t achieve what I wanted it to, and so I have simplified it. The original was actually a puzzle although it has always been listed as a multi.

The original co-ordinates took you to our Library (it’s a cool place to visit – you can still do that). It also pointed you to a book, “Not Only in Stone” by Phyllis Somerville. This is an historic novel about a Cornish mining family who came to live in Wallaroo Mines. Reading it is an excellent way to gain insight about life here in the hey-day of copper mining.

The current coordinates take you directly to a 200ml Sistema container in Wallaroo Mines. You will receive instructions to find a larger container at GZ. The clue refers to both finds.

When hiding this cache we visited a couple of times at dusk and discovered it was a very pleasant place to be at sunset. It’s probably best to leave before dark, though, while you can still see where you’re putting your feet.

You don’t have to go anywhere nasty to find the cache.
