North Kitsap Heritage Park - Forest Pulsar Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Wizard of Ooze: As the cache owner has not indicated that they have visited the cache location to replace it if missing, perform needed maintenance, or verify that it is still there within the requested time period, I am regretfully archiving the cache to clear it from the active cache database and open the area to new caching opportunities.

If the cache owner would like to replace a cache at this location, please submit a new geocache listing and it will be reviewed under the current geocaching.com guidelines. Please don’t post a note on your archived listing as it won’t be forwarded to me and I won’t see it. If you need to contact me, please do so by emailing me through the contact link on my geocaching.com profile page or through my website www.wizardofooze.com

Thank you for your contributions to geocaching, and we hope to see you actively geocaching once again in the near future.

Geocache Description:

This is our first hidden cache. I hope that you enjoy the hike! It
is hidden deep in the forest of North Kitsap, between Kingston and
Indianola.

This property is roughly 800 acres of park reserve for North Kitsap County. In the future, wider trails and an entrance on Miller Bay Rd will be built. In the meantime, it is a very pristine (well mostly!) wild nature area populated by deer, coyote, and more birds than you can count. Even the occasional black bear has been sighted eating berries in summer!

There are numerous ways to enter the property. If entering from the east, here is a waypoint for a parking area:

N47 46.400
W122 30.975

If entering from the north, enter from Norman Rd (near the cemetery). Once you park in either of these places, head to this waypoint for the entrance to the main trail:

N47 46.940
W122 31.260

You may also drive into the Whitehorse Golf Course and park in the lot and enter from the south, though please be aware of the golfers. There is no need to walk onto the course at all. Also, if using this method, there is no need to use the waypoint, though the hike is nowhere near as fun! The new asphalt trail has been pushed through to the existing trail system in the park. If you want to look around a bit more after you find the cache, take the new trail south around the golf course and you'll make it all the way to Indianola Rd.

Again, the very best way to enjoy this cache is to come at it from the east or north. Can you spot the beaver pond?

Enjoy the hike!

~ Congratulations to boshea for ftf
