Geocache Description:

Come one, come all, but come prepared for a long day of riding the Green Circle Trail! This event will take us around the trail for nearly 30 miles! Come and ride all or part of the trail, or come by and visit with old and new friends before we head out on the trail!

If you would like to search for any caches along the route check out our bookmark list to see all of the caches along the Green Circle Trail. There will be a total of 30 - 35 caches along our route including our new "MicroWave - A 21 Stage Salute!" cache!

MEETING TIME: 8:00 AM - Rain or Shine!

RIDE STARTS AT 9:00 AM

RIDE DISTANCE: @ 30 MILES

RIDE TIME: 6-7 HOURS (depends on speed and physical abilities)

WHAT TO BRING: Water bottle, a bicycle and a ton of energy!

The 30.5 mile Green Circle is a hiking and biking trail that loops around the Stevens Point area. It meanders through forests, over wetlands, and along rivers, recalling the days of huge pineries, pioneer settlements, and the lore of the Wisconsin and Plover Rivers.

The Green Circle connects Stevens Point’s Bukolt, Zenoff, Pfiffner, Plover River and Iverson Parks, Plover’s Lake Pacawa Park, the Village of Whiting Park , the UW-Stevens Point Schmeeckle Reserve, and Izaak Walton League land.

The trail has 14 connecting segments. All urban residents are within 10 minutes of the trail system and yet, more than 80% of the Green Circle winds through secluded natural areas.

UPDATE: The reason for the terrain is because of the distance. The trail itself is a very easy trail to maneuver. Heck, our son uses a one speed BMX. Helmets are optional. There are a few small hills but basically the terrain is fairly level. If you would like more information about the trail please check out the Green Circle website.
