Ammo can in a trail system that is quickly being taken over by new housing developments. Difficulty in retrieving the cache will depend on finding the best trail access point.
Many years ago, this area of Kelowna was rife with hiking/biking trails for the avid local nature lover. People came to this area for bush parties, hikes to see the various views of the city and to commune with the many types of wildlife that make this area home. Unfortunately, as the city grew so did it's need for more building space. Hence, the trail system is quickly deteriorating with many trails ending at a retaining wall, a pile of rocks, or a cul-de-sac. There are several access points to this cache; the nearest one is difficult to get to as the housing development requires a code to get through it's gates. However, we know of one access point that will remain open as it is TRADITION that it should stay so. A short but fairly strenous hike will take you to an ammo can with the following theme:
As one of Zoe's boyz is a Hot Wheels fan, he loaded up this cache with some of his many hot wheels cars. Feel free to trade other Hot Wheels... or Matchbox. Also, there is a travel bug for the FTF who would like to travel to as many of the major race tracks as possible (Daytona, Indy, Le Mans, etc.). Anyone who takes the TB to one of these places is encouraged to take a pic and send it to us... we would be ecstatic.
Otherwise, enjoy the hike and after finding the cache if you haven't already done so hike a few more metres for another amazing view of our wonderful city. Oh yeah... don't be surprised if you run into a deer... they abound here.
