Geocache Description:

This is my first cache so I hope my Co-ords are good !!
The cache is pretty easy to find, placed on level smooth(ish) ground and can be accessed via the Alderton Close (free) car park if you just want to cache and dash, or for a longer walk around this fantastic park, there are numerous access points, more details below

The cache got its name due to the fact that it is only 150 yards from the Watermead Mammoth statue. This park is often muggle infested (esp. the bird feeders), but this cache is hidden on a little used track that leads from the car park to the Mamouth, but still please be vigilant. The cache is a 1 litre, lock'n'lock container with a home brew atempt at camouflage, it has also been covered with local camo so please replace over the cache before leaving.
There were a few small nettles near GZ but small enough to tread down/step over

On placing the cache it contained: Log book, pencils & sharpener in a jiffy bag (please replace) a calculator, an L.E.D keychain torch, a bottle opener and a handfull of other small swops

Access Points for Watermead Country Park South

Alderton Close car park
Birstall adjacent to the Mulberry Tree Public House or at several points along the riverside
Footpaths run from Melton Road across to Birstall giving access to Watermead at several points

The paths surrounding the nature lakes are for the most part wheelchair accessible. It is not necessary to go to the top of the hill to enjoy excellent views.

Enjoy the Birds, Enjoy the Mammoth, but most impotant, enjoy the cache
