Geocache Description:

Welcome to McGregor Bay! You'll need a boat to reach this cache.

There used to be six official dump sites around McGregor Bay, but this wasn’t one of them. Judging by the vintage garbage, locals stashed their trash here until the 1960’s. I found this spot one summer because it makes a great portage for kayaking over Burnt Island. I was giving a friend a tour around the Bay and I wound up being surprised and embarrassed by all the junk we found here. Over the past few summers I’ve removed about dozen bags of trash. Highlights included a tire that looked like it came off a Model T, an ancient water pump, and some great old bottles. I’d say it’s looking respectable ‘round here again, just don’t scratch the surface or beat around the bush. Consider this a chance to practice a little CITO as you seek the cache. If you spot some garbage please take it with you. Happy hunting!
