Port Lincoln Boat Ramps 2 - Snapper Rock Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Ngaambul: As there's been either no response from the cache owner, no cache to find or log to sign, or it's been a number of months since the last owner note. I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace/make available the cache sometime in the near future (next 30 days), just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the current guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it. Should you replace the cache after 30 days has passed please create a new cache listing so it can be reviewed as a new cache.

Geocache Description:

Located near Snapper Rock Boat Ramp, Port Lincoln

Second cache in a series that will take you to boat ramps in Port Lincoln.

Once upon a time this was a popular place to catch snapper.

The rocks here form a natural boat wharf. In the past it was used to unload sheep and cattle and even timber and flour. In the 1920's explosives used to build the nearby Tod Reservoir pipeline were unloaded here. This was to protect the safety of the other jettys in the event of an explosion.

Many people do still use this boat ramp or fish here.

It is of special significance for us as some of wedding photos were taken here.

Cache is a small sistema container with a logbook and pencil. Only room for small swaps or Geocoins.
