Geocache Description:

Cache is a 500 ml Sistema found towards the car park side of a large park on the Northbrook Parkway, the road from Mount Glorious to Wivenhoe Dam. There is a barrier which will stop the children wandering onto the road and into the carpark, but as always, keep them under watch as you search for the cache.

You will find this wonderful park approx 6 Kms from Wivenhoe Outlook, 15 kms from Mount Glorious and 34 kms from Samford. The park contains 16 picnic tables in the open, 13 picnic tables under cover, 11 wood barbeques, 4 water tanks and flush type septic toilets which have been quite clean on the occasions we have visited. There is vast amounts of open space in this park, great for kicking a football, playing a game of cricket or throwing a frisbee.

In winter there is plenty of space for a picnic rug and sitting or lying in the sun, and in summer there is lots of under cover areas and shady trees. There is also a nice creek flowing through the park, which is great for exploring with young children (under supervision of course). After the recent flooding rains (April - May 2009) the creek and its banks have been cleared of all debris and the creek is looking the best it has in years. The water is still flowing and the water is cystal clear - it is a shame it is winter and too cold for a dip. Of course in summer, it would be a great place for a refreshing dip, but once the water becomes stagnant again, this might change.

There is also a smaller park with a separate parking area about 300 metres east of Red Cedar, called White Cedar. It has 5 BBQ's, 14 picnic tables of which 8 are under cover, a toilet and a couple of water tanks. Please note that the tank water in both parks is not fit for drinking - please bring your own from home to drink.
