Geocache Description:

Small disguised cache located along the banks of the Little Mahoning Creek. The cache is only about 15 foot off the road next to an informational sign so should be accessable by wheelchair although the grass may be grown up a bit.

Information Update: 5/31/2010: This informational kiosk along the Little Mahoning was built as one of 2 along the stream for BAMAJ's (Matthew N.'s Caching Handle) Eagle Scout project while a scout of Troop 11 in the fall of 2008. He worked with the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy conservation group. The other is located at the Millstone on East Creek Road. Matthew made the signs on the eastern hellbender salamander and the freshwater mussels for the project as well.

Volunteer's have provided an educational area along the banks of the Little Mahoning Creek describing ways they are working to save the watershed and inhabitants; such as salamandars, fish and clams. Spend a bit learning of their efforts and the creek.

My parents and grandparents have lived along the Little Mahoning since the 50's and have enjoyed visiting since I was a little kid - and caught my first fish here. We came up this year from Florida to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary so I'm placing this cache here to commemorate this event so it won't be forgotten (at least by me).

I am planning to upload photographs of the cache's location history. There use to be a covered bridge, a metal girder bridge and then the current concrete (number 42...) bridge. There also use to be a mill along the banks at this exact location. I hope to add more details as I find the information and if any cachers have information please email me them and I will post the details. Thanks for visiting this cache and hope you enjoyit - the area can always have more caches.
