Geocache Description:

Come and join us on August 1, 2009 for an historic occasion. We will celebrate the achievement by PSYPROFS of their 1000th cache find. The event will begin at 4:30 at an historical location. Since PSYPROFS are famous for their historical cache placements, the event will have an historical theme. Please bring any historical swag you may have for their golden ammo can. Also, come with a description and/or pictures of your favorite history cache. We will prevail on PSYPROFS to judge our competition. Prizes will be awarded.

Read a history of where the event will take place at the following location: http://www.patricksullivans.com/history.html .

Kent and Becki Van Cleave have lived in east Tennessee for 25 years. Becki worked as a social science researcher for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park for eight years, helped by Kent, during which they measured trail use on all of the trails in the park. Both have Ph.D.'s in psychology (psyprofs). Becki teaches at Carson Newman College, and Kent teaches at the University of Tennessee, at the University of Phoenix, and at American Intercontinental University. They run a pottery and soap business started by their daughter Elizabeth, their 16-year old, is a part of that business. They put their pottery necklaces in geocaches. They love to travel and look for caches. They are trying to visit all 50 states, they have 30 left.

They found #800 on 4/4/09, while participating in GeoQuest III as a part of Team JARK, #700 on 3/1/09, #500 on 6/24/08, and they have 82 caches out in the wild, favoring historic or culturally significant places. And, oh, alright... Yes, now that you mention it, we DO have one light pole cache and a guard rail cache, but we put them out to seed the area more fully and bring people out into northeast Knox County in search of caches. Besides, the guardrail cache is a history cache.

Their 1st cache hide was GC1022P on 12/29/06.
The 1000th cache find came on June29, 2009 at GC14ECF.
