Geocache Description:

This is one of a series of caches hidden at Trout Lake Nature Center. Trout Lake is a wonderful 230 acre nature preserve just north of Eustis approximately ½ mile east of the intersection of County Road 44 (NOT State Road 44) and State Road 19. There is no admission fee but donations are always welcome.

Be sure to visit the Daughter near the museum.

Call ahead 352-357-7536 to check on open hours (or check the website – www.troutlakenature.org). - 1-4 Sun. Closed Mon. Tues- Sat 9-4. Once at Trout Lake, there are two buildings with really neat exhibits, a picnic pavilion and several trails to walk. During the rainy season, the mosquitoes can be bothersome so pack some repellant.

You are searching for a large coffee can that has been camoflauged. All of the caches at Trout Lake Nature Center are kid friendly. They are designed to be easily assessable to children and yet fun for veteran geocachers.

This cache is located near a play area. Once you have located the cache, signed the log and traded, please be sure to engage all 4 locks to ensure the cache stays waterproof. Be sure to sign the Daughter log also. Take a few minutes to enjoy the playground (for the young and young at heart) then return to the front door and venture into the museum to enjoy the exhibits. While in the museum, please sign the visitor log as some of our funding is dependent on how many people enjoy this facility. Be sure to check out coming events as there is usually always something going on.

The visiting Daughter started from the Mother Cache in North Wales. Then she went on holiday to Cuba where she was adopted by Dora's Explorers who took her to Canada. They brought her to see the Real Florida and she liked TLNC so much, she decided to settle there. Thank you for all who come to visit her.

Please, we have been asked that there be NO bushwacking – this is a preserve established to protect both animals and plants so please stay on the trails going to and from cache locations. Some of the trails may be seasonally wet.

Have fun caching and enjoy your visit to Trout Lake Nature Center.
