[FIN] Perinteinen pieni kätkö Näränkävaaran etelärinteellä. Huikaisevat näkymät kaakkoon, etelään ja länteen. Edessä näkyvää suoaluetta entistetty tukkimalla ihmisen kaivamia ojia.
[ENG] A traditional small cache on the southern slope of Näränkävaara. Excellent views to southeast, south and west. The marsh area in the foreground has been renovated by refilling the manmade ditches.
[FIN] Närängän vanha erämaatila sijaitsee Näränkävaarassa, Närängän suojelualueella, Venäjän rajan tuntumassa itä-Kuusamossa. Tilaa on kunnostettu ja entisöity luonto- ja historialliseksi kohteeksi kertomaan entisaikojen elämästä ja elinolosuhteista erämaassa. Pihassa sijaitsee aina avoinna oleva näyttelytila, joka kertoo tilan historiasta. Tilan päärakennus on myös vuokrattavissa. Pihapiirissä on PuuCee ja tulipaikka.
Ympäristössä on useita kävelyreittejä, joilla on hyvä tutustua suojelualueen luontoon. Erityisesti tilalta vaaran päälle ja alas kulkeva n. 3 km:n pituinen reitti avaa huikeat näkymät ympäröivään maastoon, aina Venäjän puolelle saakka.
Lähin parkkipaikka kesäisin on noin 1 km:n tilasta Suojärven P-paikka, jossa on myös tulipaikka ja PuuCee. P-paikalta johtaa polku ylös tilalle, josta reitti jatkuu vaaran päälle Kirkkokallion, Yheksänsylenkallion ja Nikomännyn kautta takaisin P-paikalle. Reitti on vaativa korkeuseroista johtuen. Erityistä varovaisuutta kannattaa noudattaa varsinkin sateella jyrkkien rinteiden, pitkospuiden ja polkujen liukkauden takia.

[ENG] The old Näränkä Wilderness Farm is located in Näränkävaara, in the nature reserve area of Näränkä, in the eastern part of Kuusamo, near the Russian border. The buildings have been restored and represent nowadays a famous nature and historical object telling about the life and living conditions in the wilderness. There's an exhibition room, which is always open, where you can meet the history of the farm. You can also rent the main building. In the yard there is also a fireplace and a wooden toilet.
In the area there are several hiking routes to get acquainted with the nature of the nature reserve area. Especially the 3 km long route up and down the hill offers superb views over the surrounding terrain, up to the Russian side of the border.
The nearest parking place in summertime is Suojärvi P-place, about 1 km from the farm. There is also a fireplace and wooden toilet. From the P-place you can follow the trail to the Näränkä Wilderness Farm, from there the hiking route leads to Kirkkokallio, Yheksänsylenkallio, Nikomänty and finally back to the P-place. The route is demanding due to the big differences in altitude. Special care should be taken especially when it is raining, the steep slopes, duckbords and paths are very slippery.
