In high school, I was the president of the Armenian Club. I was
somewhat forced to join the club my Junior year, because so many of
my friends were members. I enjoyed it, and became pretty active in
all of the activities and events. My senior year, I was unanimously
voted president... even though I did not want to be president AT
ALL. I became so involved in Armenian-related issues, that my
congressman personally called me during my graduation week thanking
me for all of my involvement.
But the thing is, I'm not Hye (Armenian) I'm 100% Odar (not
Armenian!)
These days, I'm hardly ever involved in Armenian related things.
Due to a garlic allergy, I'm not even able to eat delicious
Armenian food!
I'm glad for all the time I spent with the club, and for
everything I learned. I guess I'll always have a special place in
my heart for Fresno's local Armenian population!
This cache is placed near we used to hang out during lunchtime
of our senior year, to help me hang on to those precious memories!
Also to remember the first time I ran into fellow geocachers on the
hunt at a geocache nearby! Now that I think about it... this
geocache is hidden in a similar place as my first find.
If there's two things Armenians love -- it's basketball and
dancing. Here's a photo I took at a dance celebrating the end of a
basketball tournament a few summers ago. I was in college, no
longer in the club, but I was still an honorary Armenian.
You might have to do the "Geocacher Dance" to find this hide,
but it should be pretty easy to grab.
