The Hike or Bike series is intended to provide a cache where you can get out and walk or bike (or roller blade) and enjoy the beautiful waterfront trail. This is the thirteenth cache in this series which will head in a westerly direction. The final cache is a small lock and lock camouflaged container.
Petticoat Creek
The coordinates listed are for the first Waypoint. Parking is available close to this location. If you are biking, you will have to stray off the waterfront trail but the view is worth the visit.
First waypoint
At the published coordinates, find a sign. “Stop the Invasion”
1. Spray with high pressure water (AAA psi)
2. Hotline number 1 800 BBB -7711
3. (AAA x 2) + 8 = CCC
4. Sum of BBB + 1 = DD
[(Sum B+B+B ) +1]= DD
Enter in the following coordinate N 43 48 CCC W 79 06.0DD
Second waypoint
Find an pole on the west side of road with numbers on it. Take the bottom set of numbers (green on white background) and multiply by 4 and subtract 9 to = EEE
Take the same numbers and multiply by 100. Subtract 76 and divide by 13 = FFF
N43 48.EEE W 079 06.FFF
Third waypoint
Find a sign with pictures. Count the letters in the names of the pictures so you have four sets of numbers. For example if the name of a picture is “spruce tree” your count will be 10. Add up your four sets of numbers to get a two digit number. Subtract 1 from this number then multiply this number by 100 and divide by 6. Subtract 8 = GGG
Take this original number and multiply by 12. Subtract 19 = HHH.
N43 47.GGG W 079 06.HHH
The final cache is hidded on the grounds of Petticoat Creek Conservation area. You can enter the park through the gates off Whites Road. There is a fee charged for entering the Conservation area. You may also find access to the waterfront trail from either of the two suggested parking coordinates. There is no fee for parking at these locations however spots may be limited. Entering the conservation area on foot or by bike from the trail is free.
