This easily accessible cache is hidden just below a superb viewpoint high above Smitswinkel Bay and overlooking False Bay in the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve.
Park at S34 16.019 E18 27.846 - the first car park on your left less than 1km after the entrance gate. This is Smitswinkel Viewpoint, a popular first stop in the Reserve and also the starting point for a great 4km walk. After checking out the fine view here, head south down the trail leading from the car park.
At S34 16.177 E18 27.890 a signpost directs you left to the next viewpoint some 75m away or right along the False Bay Scenic Walk (see below). Follow the left track to the flat rock slab at S34 16.222 E 18 27.918 (altitude approx 155m).
After admiring the stunning view, carefully (!) scramble down two levels to locate the cache, a small pharmaceutical container, hidden at ground level and approx 3m below the height of the slab under some small rocks to the right of a small shrub.
From here head back the way you came or . . .
If you are feeling energetic and want a great 3-4 hour walk get some one to park a car/wait for you at Booi Se Skerm parking area near the Old Lime Kiln north of Bordjiesrif and follow the False Bay Scenic Walk from Smitswinkel Viewpoint which passes along the back of the three peaks, Judas Peak (319m), Die Boer (302m) and Paulsberg (369m and the only one with a path to the summit - location of the highly recommended but seldom visited GC3E8F Cache - Paul, Venus & The Titan)
