Geocache Description:

Cache is located in Central Park, just off a path requiring no bushwacking.

Listed coordinates bring you to a piece of Egypt in Central Park.

Cleopatra's Needle arrived in Central Park in 1881 and has beckoned admirers ever since. Spend some time and ponder the hieroglyphs for a while and think about the massive amount of effort it took to get it here. Feel free to check out it's Wikipedia page to get more information but don't feel obligated to for the sake of the cache.

Once you reach this impressive obelisk, follow the directions listed below:

1. Face away from the side of the monument which has written on it "Beloved of Amun, Granted Life Like Ra."

2. Walk approximately 18 feet.

3. Add the digits of the year written on the plaque.

4. Stand in front of the plaque and turn 90 degrees clockwise.

5. Walk that many feet away from the plaque.

6. Descend the ramp and look at the sign at the bottom.

7. Take the number at the bottom of the sign and multiply it by 4.

8. Walk that many feet down hill.

9. Sit on the steps and ponder where the cache could be.
