Gum Rubbers’ Midnight Madness is a “fire tack” night cache located in Trenton Park that is impossible to do in the daylight. You will need a decent flashlight with good batteries in order to do this cache. If you go alone, it is recommended that you take two flashlights and extra batteries because if your light goes out, it is pitch black in there and you simply can’t see anything.
The area is dry and no bush wacking is required but the terrain is rough with lots of sticks and tree roots. Flip-flops, sandals or sneakers would be a poor selection of footwear for this cache. It will take roughly 1 - 1½ hours to complete the cache. Parking for this cache is across from the canteen because the main gate is closed at dusk, preventing you from driving close to the starting point. From here, it is a 5 minute hike up past the swimming pool. Take the road on the right side of the pool to the starting point at the above listed coordinates which is a beech tree with a noticeable crevice in it. Find the beech tree and find the 4x4 loc-n-loc container with valuable information that will assist you in continuing your hunt and also help you with getting back to your vehicle.
