Car parking is available at N 51 29.110 W 003 16.147, cross the road and follow the Public Footpath. There is a slight climb but the path is well maintained. Some of the path becomes quite boggy in wet weather. Alternative parking is available at The Plymouth Arms pub at the top of the hill in St. Fagans village.
This cache is not inside the museum site and the cache can be completed from car park to cache and back in aprox. half an hour
You should be at VC1, a kissing gate close to the site of The Battle of St. Fagans.
In the fields around the small village of St Fagans, approximately 11,000 men fought in the largest battle on Welsh soil. The victory of the Parliamentarian forces over the much larger Royalist forces was important enough at the time for public thanks to be read in all the churches in England and Wales, yet today most people in South Wales know little about their local Civil War battle.
To find the cache location, you will need to answer the following questions from the information board you should find in front of you.
In what year did the Battle take place? = ABCD
The approx. mileage of the circular walk? = E
The month of the Battle? = F
Co-ordinates are:-
N 51 deg 29. (C-A) (C) (F-E)
W 003 deg 16. (D-C) (B-E) (C+A)
Difficulty is down to poor GPS signal due to tree cover. There is no need to leave the footpath.
After a short walk you will find a Cammo bag containing a small plastic container with screw on top, with room for coins and small swaps. There is a log sheet with pen, and a few swaps.
