Lake Claiborne State
Park is a 620 acre recreational facility located in Claiborne
Parish. The park is named for the 6,280 acre
Lake Claiborne that provides water sport opportunities including
fishing, waterskiing and beach swimming.
The park has 86 improved
campsites and 10 vacation cabins. There are
approximately 12 miles of trails provided for hiking, biking or
bird watching.
This cache was placed
with permission of the Park Manager. Make sure
and thank the park personnel for allowing caches to be placed
inside the park.
The cache is a .30 cal
ammo can hidden near the end of the Muscadine Hiking
Trail. The Muscadine Hiking Trail is
approximately a half a mile long. It may be
easier to access the Muscadine Trail by taking the White-Tail Trail
at the trailhead near Cabins 7-10. The trails
here a Claiborne are clearly marked and you might get lucky and see
a variety of wildlife.
