Il complesso della masseria, fu edificato a più riprese, a partire dal XVII secolo, come indica l'epigrafe sul prospetto recante la data 1657. Il feudo, anticamente noto con il nome di Cerceto, compare nelle fonti per una distruzione preparata dai saraceni nel IX secolo per una concessione alla famiglia Castromediano, da parte di Carlo I d'Angiò, nel 1274. Il nucleo più antico della masseria e l'edificio-torre, dotato di basamento a scarpa, contrafforti angolari, piombatoi e saettiere per la difesa. Il coronamento della struttura è caratterizzato da archetti e beccatelli. A partire dal XVIII secolo, vennero aggiunti altri corpi di fabbrica, destinati sopratutto alle attività produttive. L'area intorno alla masseria è disseminata di testimonianze della lunga frequentazione del sito. È possibile ammirare una chiesetta di gusto settecentesco, un frantoio ipogeo, una grande colombaia, diverste tombe scavate nel banco di roccia, neviere, cisterne, pozzi e numerosissime fosse granaie. Il grande stradone di accesso alla masseria conserva ancora le profonde carraie lasciate dal passaggio dei carri. Attualmente il complesso è propietà dell'Amministrazione Provinciale.

The farm complex was built in various stages beginning from the 17th century, as is indicated by the epigraph on the front bearing at the date 1657. The feud, once known by the name Cerceto, appears in the sources on account of destruction by the Saracens in the 9th century and a concession to the Castromediano family, by Charles I of Anjou, in 1274. The oldest nucleus of the farm is the tower building with a scarp plinth, corner buttresses, machiocolation and loopholes for defence. The growing of the structure is characterized by small arches and corbels. Beginning from the 18th century other buildings were added, above all for production activities. The area around the farm is scattered with testimonies of the long frequentation of the site. One can admire a little church in the eightteen-century taste, a hypogean crusher, a big dovecot, various graves dug out the rock, snow trenches, cisterns, Wells, and numerous corn trenches. Along the big wide road leading to the farm there are still the deep ruts left by the passage of carts.
Currently the complex belongs to the Provincial Administration.
