Shoals Park is on the St. Mary's River in Northeast Baker County. Plans for this 1,632-acre site include canoeing and kayaking facilities, nature trails, shared-use trails for equestrians, hikers and bicyclists, primitive and group camping facilities, playground and athletic fields. Eventually, the regional park will include a nature center to provide environmental education and interpretive programs based on the resources protected by the park.
Currently there are shared use trails, and picnic areas, with more trails and shelters being constructed. I've been.there twice since it has opened and seen deer and woodpeckers both times. (and a rattle snake, so watch where you step)
While this public park is new and relatively quiet, we can expect many muggles, so please re-hide the cache carefully.
This cache is hidden in the edge of small clearing where we saw the first deer.
