Easy walk from the road. Almost a park and grab.

But still gorgeous
This was the home of Edward Barron Chandler, a Father of Confederation.
Edward Barron Chandler, made good use of the area's sandstone to build his Georgian mansion, which is now known as the Rocklyn. It’s currently under renovation to become a world class B&B. Just a stone's throw away is the home of his law-clerk, Sir Albert J. Smith, who is said to have delayed Confederation by 15 months. Apparently Chandlers and Smiths discussions on the matter were the stuff of high drama for the day.
Mr. Chandler became Lieutenant Governor of New Brunswick. Mr Smith became Premier in 1865, and three other Dorchester natives went on to hold that position.
In it’s day Dorchester was the Shiretown for the County.
CHANDLER-ROCKLYN - constructed in 1831 by Edward Barron Chandler. This home has a total of twenty-six rooms, nine of which are bedrooms. They had 11 children. Their elegant family home was known as Rocklyn. It was the centre of much entertainment of lawyers and government officials. This property was declared a National Historic Site in 1976.
The cache is a camo box full of traders. Recently remade cache with dry logbook and pencil.
Bring your bug spray.
Well worth a look and well worth a meander.
Dorchester is a rather amazing spot but a well kept secret.
