OUSE VALLEY WAY

The River Great Ouse flows from its source near Brackley to the sea at King's Lynn, running through Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Norfolk. The Ouse Valley Way is a network of footpaths along this magnificent river from 'source to sea' - making this route one of the longest river valley walks in Britain. The first section of the Ouse Valley Way walk opened in 1990 in the district of Huntingdonshire, and the whole route was formally opened in May 2004.

Mile Marker # 133 is one of a series of caches along this official Long Distance Footpath. It was the idea of The Red Duke to encourage more people to explore the walking equivalent of motorways, "speeding" the walker from start to finish (in this case from Syresham near Brackley to Kings Lynn). However, the entire walk can be broken down into day walks using public transport.

My section of the walk can be started at either Kings Lynn or Downham Market and you can return to your starting point via the regular train between the two points. This series was started by and is being managed by The Red Duke if you could add to this please contact The Red Duke via Geocaching.com so he can co-ordinate things.

Mile Marker # 133 is a small lock and lock box, and contains a logbook and small swaps. This land is often grazed by sheep so please keep dogs under close control. Wear sensible footwear as it can be muddy. Do not attempt if the river is at risk of flooding.
