How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

This small geocache was placed by eight middle-school aged zoo campers during a week-long geocaching class offered nearby. The caching campers had already spent an earlier week learning GPS and geocaching basics. This group came back for another week of advanced geocaching. This hide is a combined effort.

Walking in to the park is highly recommended, but if you feel the need to pay to park... you can pay at the gate. Personally, I would walk in from the outside. The park is free to use. The parking and the nearby zoo will cost you.

Please take some time to explore this public access creek area. The area has been restored to near-native levels by removing invasive and non-native species of flora and careful watershed rehabilitation efforts. This stretch of creek is looking better than it has in a very long time.

There are six outdoor classrooms along with eight posted informational signs. It is a remarkable place to visit and spend some quiet time in nature... in Oakland.

The cache is a small tin that has been painted to blend in to its surroundings. Please replace the cache exactly as found. The original contents are limited to a logbook and TB for the FTF, but there is nothing else. If you a looking to dump some small swag... look no further.
