We hope that you will enjoy these caches. For this hunt you'll be looking for a lock-n-lock.

The Historic Nicklesville Hotel originally opened for Nickelsville vistors when it was built in 1912. Along the way the hotel also served as a boarding room for local residents who stayed in town for school. The hotel rented rooms to students who traveled from out in the country to attend high school. It was too difficult and too far for them to travel home everyday so they would just stay in town. There was even a barn out back for their horses to board.

After retirement and relocation back home, Bob and Diana Etherton kept hearing local residents complain about the lack of places for out-of-town guests to stay. When the property became available the couple decided they wanted to remodel the beautiful old house and turn it back into a hotel because they sensed a need in their community for overnight accomodations. The couple purchased the historic home in a unique house swap. With some tender loving care the couple restored the historic structure back to the beautiful hotel it once was. Adding some modern conveniences it's a very comfortable place to stay today.

Nickelsville, Virginia received its name as a result of a mercantile store started in the community by brothers, William and Walter Nickels. The store was also supported by Allen Nickels who transported goods, and by Mathias Nickels who worked in the store. Walter Nickels was also one of the Town’s early postmasters. Chartered first in 1902 as Nicholsville, the quaint little town is the most eastern town in Scott County (only about 5 miles from the Russell County Line) and at about 2,000 feet, it enjoys the honor of having the highest elevation. Nicklesville boosts three unique historical landmarks: The Old Hotel, Bush Mill, and Kilgore Fort House. Nicklesville is well worth a visit.

Thanks to Bob and Diana for allowing us to place the cache here.
