Lincoln State Park
(Entrance fee applies.)
Spring Shelter (Troy Road Picnic
Area)
Saturday, November 7, 2009
11am – 2pm (CST)
Come to Lincoln State Park for
a Saturday of searching. Find Abe’s family and friends along the
hills and hollers of Lincoln State Park and Lincoln’s surrounding
Little Pigeon Creek neighborhood. You’ll see the Lincoln Boyhood
Memorial, Buffalo Run, the Colonel Jones Home, and more!
Be prepared to drive, hike, and
maybe even wade to find out about Abe’s past! You’ll search for a
variety of Geocaches—some permanent, some hidden just for this
event, and some unique “caches” that will even talk and interact
with you! And if you’ve never Geocached before or are just
beginning, we’ll have a special beginner’s route where you can get
help from some Geocaching veterans.
So don’t pass up this
opportunity to explore Abe Lincoln’s past like few others ever
have. You’ll even get the chance to do things Abe might have done,
like throw a tomahawk or use a Schnitzelbank! Prizes will be
awarded for all sorts of reasons…
Geocaching with Abe weekend at
Lincoln State Park will be filled with great Geocaching events.
Review the notes in the cache logs below for links to the weekend’s
entire slate of events!
And if camping in beautiful
Southern Indiana in November and 5 awesome Geocaching events aren’t
enough to keep you busy, consider this: there are OVER 600
Geocaches within a 25-mile radius of Lincoln State Park. So come on
down and join us for a fun-filled weekend of Geocaching!
See ya soon!
