Get a bird's eye view of a nationally recognized El Paso Landmark.
It's almost like being in the blimp itself.
A small container hidden in the cheap seats.

A brief history of UTEP. University of Texas at El Paso opened as the Texas State School of Mines and
Metallurgy in _ _ _ _. During the course of it's existence the school has taken on many names. Eventually
Texas Western College was renamed the University of Texas at El Paso on March _ _, _ _ _ _. Early on
students wanted to show their pride in the school. M for Miners was painted on Franklin Mountains in _ _ _ _.
Rivals from the beginning, the Miners beat New Mexico State 8-0 in their first homecoming game in _ _ _ _.
The first Sun Bowl game was not played in the Sun Bowl. In fact, the Sun Bowl did not exist at the time. El
Paso High School hosted the first Sun Bowl Game in _ _ _ _. In _ _ _ _, the first game was played in the
new 30,000 seat Sun Bowl Stadium. Popular as both a football and a special event venue the Sun Bowl was
expanded in _ _ _ _ to a seating capacity of 52,000. Not all relationships last forever. Saying goodbye
to the Wac after 37 years, UTEP was formally introduced to Conference USA on July 1, _ _ _ _.

UTEP, known then as Texas Western, brought the national spotlight to El Paso in a different sport. Texas
Western beat Kentucky _ _ - _ _ in 1966 to win the NCAA basketball championship. This feat still looms
large in the Lone Star State. Notable is that _ other Division I schools in Texas have won a NCAA Men's
National Basketball Championship.

In 2014, UTEP will celebrate it's cenntenial---100 years of achievement and innovation.


Parking near this cache will likely be the toughest part of the whole find.
It certainly would be best to avoid weekdays when classes are in session.
The very best time to find this cache would be certain Saturday evenings during the fall and winter.
But then you might have 50,000 screaming muggles watching you as you search for the cache.

The trek to the cache location requires a short, but relatively steep and loose, climb.
Please rehide VERY well. This spot can get busy on those certain Saturday nights!
