MONTE
TOMATICO:
Questa bella
passeggiata vi porterà in uno dei posti panoramici più belli della
zona. Dalla cima, ove è posta una croce e anche un "Logbook" per
tutti i visitatori, potete ammirare a nord le vette Feltrine, la
Valle del Piave, Feltre e i paesini limitrofi, a sud, invece,
potete ammirare la continuazione della Valle del Piave che si apre
nella pianura padana. In una giornata bella e limpida si può forse
scorgere il mare di Venezia.

IL
PERCORSO:
Ci sono
diverse vie che portano alla cima Tomatico e alla
cache:
- Approccio da
Sud: parte dalla località Cilladon di Quero lungo il sentiero CAI
n.844
- Approccio da
Est: parte dalla località Carpen lungo il sentiero CAI
n.850
- Approccio da
Nord-Ovest: parte dalla località Porcen, dal lato di Feltre, lungo
il sentiero CAI n.841
- Approccio da
Nord: parte dalla località Tomo e dovrebbe essere percorribile
anche da una mountain bike
Io, per
ragioni affettive e logistiche, preferisco l'approccio da sud. I
waypoints allegati alla cache fanno riferimento al sentiero 844 da
Cilladon. Questo sentiero si percorre dalle 2 alle 3 ore, è lungo
circa 7 km e per una buona parte segue una strada sterrata
abbastanza facile. Troverete durante il percorso un albero secolare
di castagne (il Balech) e alcune malghe.

LA
CACHE:
La cache si
trova a qualche centinaia di metri dalla cima. A circa 20 metri
dalla panchina (vedi punto di riferimento "resting bench"),
troverete un sentiero che si distacca sulla destra da quello
principale che va verso la cima. Se prendete questo sentierro
arriverete ad una casa diroccata. Qui potete iniziare la ricerca.
Si prega di nascondere la cache come la avete trovata per ripararla
dalle intemperie e dai muggles. |
MOUNT
TOMATICO:
This
beautiful hike will bring you to one of the most panoramic places
near by. From the summit, where a cross and a "Logbook" for all the
visitors is placed, you can see in the northern direction the
Feltrine summits, the Piave river Valley, Feltre and the near by
villages, in the southern direction, instead, you can see the
prolongation of the Piave river Valley that opens to the Padana
plain. In a clear and beautiful day you can maybe spot the sea of
Venice.

THE
PATH:
There
are a few ways to reach the Tomatico summit and the
cache:
- South
approach: it starts from the locality of Cilladon of Quero along
the CAI trail n.844
- East
approach: it starts from the locality of Carpen along the CAI trail
n.850
- North-west
approach: it starts from the locality of Porcen, from the Feltre
side, along the CAI trail n.841
- North
approach: it starts from the locality of Tomo and it should be
doable by mountain bike.
For
affectional and logistical reasons I like the most the southern
approach. The waypoints attached to the cache refer to the trail
844 from Cilladon. This trail takes from 2 to 3 hours, it is about
7 km long and for most of it it follows an unpaved road quite
easily.You will find along the path an old secular chestnut tree
(the Balech) and some malghe (summer breeding house for
cows).

THE
CACHE:
The cache is
hidden at some hundreds of meters from the summit. At about 20
meters from the bench ( see the reference waypoint "resting
bench"), you will find a side trail on your right. If you take this
trail you will reach a house in ruins. Here you can start the hunt.
Please hide very well the cache as you found it to keep it repaired
from the bad weather and the muggles.
