In the 1860s there were six places of worship in Winterbourne as each community had its own church and chapel. Today there are just two churches and one chapel, one of which is St Mary’s at Winterbourne Gunner. It was founded in the 13th century and re-built in the 1880s. It consists of a chancel, nave with south porch, and a tower. It is very small, and very pretty.
Parking is available in the near-by layby, though please be careful crossing the road to the church! The cache is a small film container with no pen. Please rehide carefully
You cannot get to the cache from the churchyard! Access to the cache is only from the public footpath - enter via the kissing gate on Gomeldon Road.

If anybody would like to add to the Church Micro series please do.
We would just ask that you let Sadexploration know first so he can
keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication.
