Geocache Description:

The new Tuscarora Trail is now open and other hikes will interface into this circuit hike. Reference those caches pages for more details. There are lots of options available to the cacher/hiker now in this area.

Devil's Nose is the northern most summit of Sleepy Creek Mountain; it's not far from the Woods Resort. It's a beautiful area with a unique rock formation where the stream (Meadow Branch) goes through the canyon. It's a great 2 mile circuit hike on a nice trail to a great location. It's a special environment with lots of hemlock trees and rhododendron plants. This place is worth the visit!!! It's now one of my favorite hikes.

Sleepy Creek WMA has a trail access in Sleepy Hollow Subdivision. You will park at the coordinates listed as Parking, near a sign that says "Sleepy Creek WMA, Devil's Nose Access". You will be parking and hiking in Sleepy Creek WMA. Follow Audubon Road for about 2 miles to Maverick Trail. The access is at the end of Maverick Trail at the coordinates below. Should anyone ask, tell them you are going to the Sleepy Creek Access.

Walk the jeep trail out of the parking area. When you come to a large, open turnaround area take the trail to the left. There are eight caches along this trail.

This easy cache is the first one on the trail to Devil's Nose. If you follow the caches in the order below, and you will soon be at Devil's Nose Rock Outcropping and then down to Devil's Pond and back to the parking area. NO NEED to Bushwack to any of these caches, following this order will make for a nice hike.
