Geocache Description:

A family picnic in Wellington Park on the 12th September 2009 from 10am - 3pm - We plan to pic nic from 12o/c to 2pm. The event is in the park from 10am to 3pm if you wish to take part! The co-ords are just pointing you to the park and we will try to make ourselves obvious where the event is happening.

Social even for local Geocachers to meet up and BBQ in the park with the Wellington Boots between 12 o/c and 2pm and just be social.

By the way! The Chamber of Trade and Commerce have organised "The World Wellington Boots Throwing Event" for today between 10am and 3pm. Hence the reason to have a gathering today. We could not resist the link between the Wellington Boots and The Wellington Boots. They aim to have other twin towns overseas taking part on the same day and the winner will be the one from the host town with the best thrower.

We will update this page and post more info nearer the time but if you can come along and share the picnic with us on the day please do make a diary note.

Throwing

Each competitor will be given three chances to record their best throw.

The throwing style and the grip of the boot are open to any style you choose, but the leg of the boot must be straight when the boot is in the air (for example, the leg of the boot may not be rolled on top of the foot of the boot). For safety reasons the boot may only be thrown over or underarm. No body rotation is allowed.
