Kyrkobyggnaden är uppförd i romansk stil, troligen under senare delen av 1100-talet. Den är byggd av grov gråsten, som har putsats och sedan kalkats. Den består av långhus och ett i öster rakt avslutat kor. Vapenhuset tillkom 1745 och sakristian först 1953. Kyrkans inredning ger annars ett intryck av 1700-tal, eftersom den då radikalt byggdes om. Den senaste stora restaureringen 1959 genomfördes under överinseende av byggnadsantikvarien i Göteborg, Harald Widén. Den leddes av arkitekt Göran Erro i Borås efter ett förslag, som hans framlidne fader, arkitekt R. 0. Swensson, hade utarbetat. Målningsarbetet utfördes av målarmästare T. Öhlén och översynen av de framtagna målningarna av Paul Källström, båda från Göteborg. 2002 togs heltäckningsmattan bort och ett stengolv lades in.

Altaruppsatsen har en målning föreställande den heliga nattvarden och är från 1700-talet. Denna målning har under tiden 1877-1959 varit dold av den Kristusbild, som nu är placerad till höger framme i koret. Själva altaret utgörs av en murad sockel av putsad sten och tegel, täckt av en stenskiva som lades på vid restaureringen 1959. Altarringen är av trä och tillverkad 1923 och har sedan 1959 en klädsel av blå plysch. Ett tidigare krön på altaruppsatsen föreställande Guds öga sitter numera över dörröppningen till sakristian. På altaret är två stora malmljusstakar av äldre modell placerade. Till altaret hör också fyra ljusstakar av silver samt ett krucifix.

Äldst bland de lösa inventarierna är cuppan till dopfunten, som kan vara tillkommen under 1100-talet. Cuppan är av amfibolit och kring dess övre kant löper en rundstav med nedfällda palmetterade akantusblad. Cuppan har uttömningshål i botten och vilar på en enkel, rund fot. På 1600-talet tillkom den åttkantiga dopskålen av driven och ciselerad mässing, en gåva av ett par makar med initialerna MHD. Dopkannan är från 1967.

Såväl långhusets som korets trävalv bär målade framställningar. I långhuset formar en sirlig rokokodekor med blomsterfestoner ett rektangulärt fält i takets mitt, medan koret rymmer ett triangulärt Jahve-emblem med strålglans, omgivet av lätta moln med små änglar, som tittar fram. Långhusets östfall täcks av ett dekorativt trädgårdslandskap med en bakgrund av i blått tonande berg och med en förgrund, där en av de heliga tre konungar tillbeder Kristusbarnet. Målningarna är från senare delen av 1700-talet.

Predikstolen består av en 1600-talskorg med målningar från förra delen av 1700-talet, föreställande aposteln Petrus, samt evangelisterna Matteus, Marcus, Lukas och Johannes. På korgen finnes ett äldre timglas med fyra sandbehållare. Det sexkantiga ljudtaket har en snidad överkant, och under taket finns en sol och en duva.

En kalk av silver från år 1686 med sexsidigt skaft och rund nod, bärande rosmotiv och initialerna INRI-SM (Jesus från Nasaret, judarnas konung - världens frälsare), är ännu i bruk i kyrkan. Dess cuppa bär en medaljong med texten "Se Guds Lamm, som borttagen världens synder. Förbarma Dig över oss", på latin. På den sexkantiga foten står "Tufve". Bland nattvardskärlen finns också en oblatask från 1858 i nysilver samt en vinkanna av silver.

The church building is done in Romance style, probably during the later part of the 12:th century. It is build in rough granite, that has been polished and then whitewashed. It consists of a nave and in the east straight finished sanctuary. The church porch was added in 1745 and the sacristy not until 1953. The interior of the church on the other hand gives an impression of the 18:th century, since it has so radically been re-built. The latest large renovation in 1959 was done by the supervision of byggnadsantikvarien i Göteborg, Harald Widén. It was led by the architect Göran Erro in Borås after a suggestion that his late desist father the architect R. O. Swensson had worked out. The painting work was done by painting master T. Öhlén and the supervision of the decided paintings by Paul Källström, both from Gothenburg. In 2002 the wall-to-wall carpet was removed and a stone floor was put in.

The retable has a painting depicting the Holy Communion and is from the 18:th Century. This painting has during the time 1877-1959 been hidden by the Christ picture, that now is placed on the right by the cross. The altar in itself is done in brick-built base of polished stone and brick, covered by a stone plate that was laid on at the restoration in 1959. The altar ring is of wood and was made in 1923 and has since 1959 been fitted with blue plush. A previous top on the retable depicted Goods eye now resides above the doorway to the sacristy. On the altar stands to large bronze candlesticks of older model. To the altar also four candlesticks also belongs and a crucifix.

Oldest amongst the loose effects is the cuppa to the Christening front, that can be added during the 12:th century. Cuppan is of amfibolit and along its top most edge runs a round molding with descended palm leafs of akantus leafs. Cuppan has an emptying hole in the bottom and rests on a simple, round foot. In the 17:th century an eight cornered Christening font was added of embossed brass, a gift from a couple of fellows with the initials MHD. The Christening jug is from 1967.

The pulpit consist of a 17:th century hamper with the later part of the 18:th century, depicting apostle Petrus, and the Evangelists Matteus, Marcus, Lukas and Johannes. On the hamper an older hourglass with four sand containers resides. The six edged sound roof has a carved top edge and under the roof a sun and a dove exists.

A chalice of silver from 1686 with six sided shaft and round node, wearing rose motifs and the initials INRI-SM (Jesus from Nasaret, the King of the Jews - the saviour of the world), is still in use in the church. Its cuppa wears a medallion with the text: “See the lambs of Good, that removes the sins of the world. Have mercy on us”, in Latin. On the six edged foot it says “Tufve”. Amongst the Holy Communion vessels there is also an sacramental wafer box from 1858 in nickel silver and a wine jug in silver.
