The parking lot that you are in was once an amusement park. It was Buckeye Lake Park and was dubbed as "The Playground of Ohio". The only thing remaining in this parking lot from the old era is the fountain in the middle that adorned the old "Midway" of the park. Many rides, dance halls, games & attractions, skating rink, and an Olympic sized swimming pool adorned this lot from 1910's until its deterioration in the late 1960's. One of the many rides was one called the "Wild Mouse", which was a series of dips and sharp turns over the lake. Remnants of this old ride (concrete pilasters) can still be seen above the lake's surface. As a kid, I grew up just a couple of blocks from here from 1955 to 1975. I can still hear the noise and excitement of the rides, the great music of The Big Bands,(such as Tommy Dorsey and Louis Armstrong), and the smell of the many places to eat. Those were the "Good Old Days". Enjoy the sights of the boats and fishers as you seek this cache. It would be better to go early in the morning to allude Muggles as there is a beach nearby . There is poison ivy there so wear long clothing. It is not on the private land. If you come to the gate, you went too far.Cache is a pill bottle. Bring your own pen. Please leave it as you found it.
