Earthcache: Uhry und die weißen Sande

Vor etwa 45 – 70 Millionen Jahren herrschte in Europa subtropisches Klima. Im Gebiet von Uhry befand sich zu dieser Zeit ein großes Delta eines Flusses, der sehr reine Sande und feinen Kies vom Festland mitbrachte und hier ablagerte.
Diese weißen Sande, die zu fast 100 Prozent aus Quarz bestehen, sind ein begehrter Rohstoff für die Industrie und werden u. a. auch zur Herstellung von Computerchips verwendet.
Viele Millionen Jahre später – in der Saale-Kaltzeit vor ca. 330 000 bis 127 000 Jahren – wurde über den feinen Sanden eine mehrere Meter dicke Schicht aus Sand, Kies und großen Findlingen abgelagert, die von den Gletschern aus dem hohen Norden hierher transportiert wurden.
Etwa 300 dieser Steine liegen im Findlingsgarten Königslutter in einer nachempfundenen Eiszeitlandschaft.
Der größte bisher in dieser Sandgrube gefundene Findling von ca. 45 t Gewicht ist am Informationspunkt an der Straße von Uhry nach Rhode aufgestellt. Von hier aus hat man auch einen guten Überblick über die Grube mit den weißen Sanden und temporären Kleingewässern.
Der Abbau von Rohstoffen bedeutet immer einen Eingriff in die Natur, schafft jedoch oft auch neuen Lebensraum: In den Sand-Steilwänden haben Tiere ihre Brutröhren angelegt, wärmeliebende Insekten fanden in der Grube ein neues Zuhause.
Die Sandgrube darf nicht eigenmächtig betreten werden, da instabile Grubenwände und der laufende Abbaubetrieb lebensgefährliche Risiken darstellen.

   bei N 52° 18.413 E 10° 51.690 .
- Und beantworte mir folgende Fragen per Mail:
    - Welcher Vogel hat seine Brutröhren in den Sand-Steilwänden angelegt (Infotafel) ?
    - In welchem Verband ist der Riesenfindling von 45t auf der Infotafel dargestellt ?
    - Um was für einen Stein handelt es sich bei dem Riesenfindling und wo kommt er ursprünglich her ?

Eine Logfreigabe wird von mir persönlich per Mail erteilt und alle "ganz eiligen" die eine Mail verschicken und schon vorher loggen werden erstmal gelöscht !!!

Before approximately 45 - 70 million years subtropical climate prevailed in Europe. In the area from Uhry a large delta of a river at this time, which along-brought and deposited here very pure to sand and fine gravel of the mainland, was.
This white sand, which consist to nearly 100 percent of quartz, a in demand raw material for the industry is and among other things also for the production of computer chips is used.

The largest so far Findling of approx. 45 t weight, found in this sand pit, is set up at the point of information at the road from Uhry to Rhode. From here one has also a good overview of the pit with the white Sanden and temporary small waters. The dismantling of raw materials meant always an interference into nature, creates however often also new habitat: In the sand steep walls animals their breeding tubes put on, warm-loving insects found in the pit a new home.The sand pit may not be entered arbitrarily, since unstable Grubenwände and the current dismantling enterprise represent lethal risks.
