This is the 23rd cache in the Are You Taz Enough
Challenge. Click HERE to find
out more about the challenge.
We've all had them. Those sleepless nights when we toss and turn
while our brains are working away on the latest puzzle cache that
we can't solve. Why stay in bed getting no sleep when you could be
out caching?
This night based multi-cache takes you on a tour of a section of
Northampton Park close by to where they fly model airplanes. As I
was placing this cache I could hear them buzzing away in the nearby
field. Here you will find a mostly open wooded area with lots of
trails that work their way through the area. There are a few places
where it gets a bit muddy so don't wear your good shoes. I
strongly recommend marking your car before heading in to do
the cache because it is very easy to get turned around in
there.
If any of you have done ChileHead's
Choices cache you have a good idea what you are in for with
this one. At each waypoint you will be looking for up to three
reflectors. These reflectors are scattered in all directions and
can be located up high or down low. Also, you may need to use the
full 25 foot radius of acceptable accuracy to actually spot the
reflector. At each reflector you will be looking for up to three
unique sets of waypoint coordinates. As you follow these around one
of them will ultimately lead you to the cache. If you get to an
area where you cannot locate any reflectors you may be at the final
cache location.
Like Chile's cache, this is all about choices:
- Do you continue looking for more reflectors?
- Do you continue looking for more coordinates?
- Which set of coordinates should you go to?
- Do you split off from the group and go it alone?
- Should you backtrack to see if you missed something?
Some helpful guidelines:
- Once you find the first waypoint, you'll know what you're
looking for the rest of the time. All waypoints are of the same
type.
- There is some water in the area. You do not need to stray into
the water to find any of the waypoints. Some areas may be a bit
mucky at times, so boots should be worn just in case.
- There are shortcuts - each path through this cache is a
different length.
- I won't say what the minimum number of waypoints is required to
find the cache.
- Every set of coordinates takes you to another set of
reflectors, or possibly the final.
- There are loops. You may find yourself directed back to a
waypoint you were already at. Find another set of coordinates at
that site if you haven't already.
- The coordinates at each site are of varying levels of
difficulty to find, or may be right next to each other.
- Harder waypoints might lead you through a shorter path to the
cache. Or maybe not.
- The reflectors are most visible when you either use a headlamp
or hold your flashlight at eye level.
The cache is a regular size container with a few trade items.
Once you've found it, add your name to the log book and when you
write your online log/note for the find please include the number
with your log entry. Please only one cacher per line in the log
book. There is a "lammy" for the FTF.
Because this is an AYTE Challenge cache I will be holding off
giving any hints for a period of one week after publication. I will
be happy to be of assistance after a week (assuming the cache has
already been found).
Congratulations to ChileHead on the FTF!!!
