Traditional cache near the remains an ancient fortification/settlement. Quite mystical area. Rem: Cache is located near the historic site, not on the settlement itself. ****** Traditional Cache in der Nähe eine antiken Befestigung/Siedlung/Kultstätte. Irgendwie mystische Gegend. Bem: Cache ist in der Nähe des Kögerls deponiert.
The "Faltikoegerl" is one of the most interesting historical sites in the region of Hengist. The hill is located near the river Kainach and provides a nice view into the region of Grazer Feld. Hilltop is flat and about 100m in diameter. Neither remains of walls nor historical literature about this place was found till now. To explore the aera you will need some mud- & waterproof shoes AND an anti-mosquito-gun :-) PS: Because I do not want to disturb the excavation in that area I placed the cache a little bit away from the historic site. ****** Das sogenannte „Faltikögerl“ ist einer der interessantesten archäologischen Plätze im Gebiet des Hengist. Die kogelartige Kuppe ragt steil über der Kainach auf und bietet einen guten Blick in Richtung Norden ins Grazer Feld. Die Kuppe des Faltikögerls wird von einem großflächigen dreieckigen Plateau eingenommen, dessen Durchmesser bis zu 100 Meter misst. Mauerreste wurden bisher keine gefunden, auch in der historischen Literatur gibt es bis jetzt keinen Hinweis auf diesen Platz. Zur Erkundung der Gegend braucht man einigermaßen wasserfestes Schuhwerk...und GELSENMITTEL :-) PS: Um die Ausgrabungsarbeiten nicht zu stören habe ich den Cache etwas abseits platziert.
