Geocache Description:

Short hike off an established road near a camping area.

The main forest road eventually leads to the trailhead that heads into Hellsgate wilderness via trail 178.

The southern portion of the wilderness in the area of the present settlement of Gisela, is known to have been inhabited by Native Americans known to archeologists as the Salado. This culture developed in Tonto Basin, from an earlier occupation by the Hohokam.
