Geocache Description:

Jacobs Evangelical Lutheran Church graced this pleasant grove from 1791 until 1971. The Germans immigrants who populated the lands along the Antietam Creek had fled religious persecution in Germany. Records indicate their presence as early as 1754.

Two hundred are interred in the nearby cemetery, the oldest site being that of George Jacobs in 1791. Two hundrend and eighteen years later, Legendary Local Geocacher, Lpyankeefan goes over the hill, turning 40. This cache is part of a larger number of caches placed in honor of that event, albeit belatedly.

The cache is in its fourth resurrection...er...reincarnation. It has moved away from the rostrum. It is characterized as small. There is room for swag and small trackables. Take Note: Sat reception is squirrely, perhaps due to the tormented souls interned herein. A helpful hint, therefore, is included.

Happy Hunting!
