A cache obtained from the Sky King Scatter Cache. (GC1W1W2)
This area used to be a nice trail for hiking/biking. As you walk along what is left of the trail to the cache, think about how much power was behind the flood waters to create the current environment.
At the trailhead, there is a sign that says the trail is closed. Don't worry about that, you won't be going to any areas that caused the trail closure. There are many local residents that walk on the trail regularly (in fact two couples walked by while I was placing the cache).
***** As of March 15, 2010 the city of Cedar Rapids is replacing the East Post bridge over Indian Creek. This means that there will be numerous times that you will not be allowed to walk under the bridge. To access the cache, you will either need to cross East Post Road and bushwack to the trail, or walk along the trail from the next access (I think that is about a 1 mile hike) ******
This area is known to flood at times, so it may not be accessible after a lot of rain.
Please let me know if you think the coordinates are way off. I kept losing satellites when placing the cache.
