Wally's Gold Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

1SGCulp: Well it has been a good run and I earned one "Favorite" for this cache but after replacing quite a few times in short order I assume the grounds people are destroying it and it is a little off my beating path so I'll let it go for someone new. If not maybe I'll return to the area one day.

Geocache Description:

A Wally Cache; BYOP, large enough for GeoCoins but not for trade items.

Not necessarily your typical Wally Cache since this Wally seems to be wearing its “collars” buttoned up. This is somewhat of a P&G but here is something you may want to know before you start looking that may make you “stop and smell the roses”. This area was home to the first major gold find in America and produced quite a bit of it considering they built a US Mint nearby, so if you are interested look up Reed’s Gold Mine (see "Related Web Page) and the Charlotte Mint.

One of the hard lessons of gold mining was to know what to look for; many people were fooled by “Pyrite”, hence its nick name “Fool’s Gold”, I don’t blame them it is beautiful and jumps right out at you. Since there was gold in this area maybe there is some left or maybe its fool’s gold; when you find the cache you be the judge

IF YOU DO FIND SOME PLEASE LEAVE IT IN PLACE FOR EVERYONE TO ENJOY, don't damage the location.

Congratulation to RWH1 on the FTF.
