Geocache Description:

This is a 1.5 mile round trip hike. The path is rocky and a little rough. Not wheelchair accessible. We took a 13, 11, 8, and 4 year old to hide so we know it is passable without too much whining and griping.

For a great view and a nice hike, visit the Laurentian Divide Lookout Mountain area. The Laurentian Divide follows a crest and divides the Red River and Rainy River basins from the Minnesota River and Lake Superior basins. Streams on the north slope of the divide flow through Canada to Hudson Bay. On the south side of the divide, streams flow south to Lake Superior or on to the Mississippi River and the Gulf of Mexico.

This is a somewhat strenuous 1.5 mile hike. Follow the path for easier terrain rather than trying to bushwhack. There are 15 miles of cross country paths so be sure to print a map at (visit link)
It prints out 2 pages with the 2nd being a good map of the trails.

This is a 6x6 tupperware container that is covered in tape. Inside, you will find a first to find dollar coin, a note pad, pencil, some kids toys, marigold seeds that my 8 year old grew, and some other swag.

We did obtain permission from the Laurentian Ranger District.
