This trail is great for kids and dogs. It is recommended for families but the park itself can be quite busy. The most challenging part is not getting noticed. You do not have to leave the main trail so please be kind to the environment.
This is our first cache so we have kept in fairly simple. We just moved into the area and we really enjoy this lake. The kids love riding their bikes here and we are told that in the Spring there is a yearly fishing derby that we look forward to checking out. This cache marks new beginnings as it celebrates the first day in our new home in this neighbourhood...
"If you’re ever driving around the burbs in Coquitlam and run across a lake, you’ve discovered Como Lake. A little gem of tranquility in the midst of a busy city. A stroll around the lake is about one kilometre. I remember Kelvin and the kids entered a fishing derby held at Como Lake. That was at least five years ago. Kelvin said it was so busy on the docks, the kids hardly had room to drop their lines. Apparently the lake gets stocked once a year with rainbow trout. Fishing however is restricted to seniors, and kids ages 16 and under." ~www.findfamilyfun.com
The cache is a small camo lock n lock that contains 2 travel bugs, a geocoin, some cars and a stone.
