Regular size camo'd generic Lock-&-Lock type.
Finding this general area won't be a problem. Finding a place to
park won't be a problem. Walking to the cache won't be a problem.
Finding the actual cache SHOULDN'T be a problem. What WILL be a
problem is finding time to actually retrieve it.
All I can suggest is to park your car in the most obvious place
& act lost. People do that all the time here so passers-by
won't pay you a bit of attention. However, people walking around in
the little field MIGHT draw attention from the "good samaritan".
It'll almost certainly be the "Can I help you with something"
type.....but in geocaching, usually you want as LITTLE attention as
possible.
Turn the car off & listen for vehicles carefully. When you
hear none in the distance, from either of the four ways, then make
the flying mad dash to the cache. Maybe leave a decoy in the
vehicle to "act lost" while you hide in the woods to prepare for
the flying mad dash back to the car. The decoy will just appear to
be the typical passing-through-person, trying to figure out which
road they are suppose to take.
As you can probably tell by now, patience & stealth are
necessary attributes here. You'll be rewarded with a cache with
some neat stuff to read (while you're hiding in the woods &
your partners acting lost), a few cool goodies, a nice little FTF
prize (if you're first of course), a smiley, & the smug
knowledge that you can wind-sprint a hundred feet or so, beside an
often busy intersection, and never be seen at all. :) :)
Pre-Hint: This just might be an ideal cache to use the kids as
an excuse. (Does that sound mean?? :) ) If you have the whole
family with you, have mom & kids wander around like they are
picking up rocks or something, while dad slips into the woods.
Nobody passing by will ever suspect a thing. You'll just look like
the other 100 tourists who stop here every day. :)
NOTE DON'T try to cheat & drive into the
field....unless you have nail-proof tires. There use to be a
building here & there's odds & ends scattered in the grass.
Besides that, doing it that way will probably gain more unwanted
attention than just parking where you SHOULD park....maybe even
from a State Trooper who doesn't know what you're doing. They use
this intersection often too. :) )
You'll often find caching pencils and/or laminated caching
info cards in my caches. These are for you to take & use if you
need them. They aren't SWAG that you must trade for. Please just
take 1 of each though, so others can have a chance also.
